Throughout the novel, A Wrinkle in Time, Meg proves to be a character who shows strength, learns love overpowers evil, and understands the struggle of resisting conformity. Throughout the novel Meg shows a great amount of strength. Meg is very strong mentally, emotionally, and physically in the novel. Meg is very strong in her way she feels. In the text Meg shows her strength against charles wallace when he tries to convince her to come with it but she turns the tables when the says “but I don’t want to be like everybody else, either.” (89). Standing up for herself takes a lot of strength for Meg because Meg is not very confident in her skin but, she shows her strength and turns down Charles Wallace. One simple word that changed Meg in this novel. Throughout this novel through her struggles, Meg learns that love overpowers evil. Meg lost charles Wallace and all hope was lost for example when The man with red eyes tranced Charles Wallace Meg shouted with anger in her voice “ What have you done with him! Where is Charles wallace!” ( 84 ). Meg was sure Charles was lost for ever until the Mrs. W’s come back, “ WWEE ARRE HHERRE!” Meg with a spark of hope rushed to them and immediately starts to beg them to go to Camazotz and retrieve Charles Wallace. When Meg is informed she has to go herself she is given gifts like she was in the beginning of their journey. But, this time the gifts were different this time the gift given to Meg was “... My love Meg never forget that. “ When Meg faces IT all hope seems lost until “... My love Meg never forget that. “ ( 127 ) She then fights off IT by showering Charles with all her love for him. And she realises Love always overcomes evil.

A conflict Meg had to overcome in the novel was the resist of conformity. Throughout the novel Meg is faced with pressure to join IT and give up her individuality. She is pressured by Charles “...but that is exactly what it is like here Meg join IT” (101). Though Meg was weak compared to IT she never backed down never conformed and she overcame so much. Meg is strong and now knows that you never need to fall for peer
