AAS Political Science Unit 3 Discussion
People in general especially the younger generations are the first to see politics in action and played out in the media as many of us have not seen before. Meaning the social media as in Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube. Everyone with smart phones and I Phones, literally have the world at their fingertips.
The older generations relied on the newspapers, some still do, then cam television, which began putting faces with the words.
The problem, in my opinion, is that so many think the if, “it's on TV it must be true”, now it's the Internet. People don't stop and look at the reality of a campaign or the fundamentals of the candidates that are running in these elections.

One “tweet' and the whole world know it. Nothing is sacred in politics any ore, there seems to be no one to believe. What ever happened to being honest.
Some would rather dig up some “dirt” or make up something up about a person then finding out what they really are about and what they are fighting for.
Social media reminds me of the game “Whisper Down the Lane”. By the time the word or phrase got to you, no one even remembered what the original statement was.
To me the point is to do your own research and find out for yourself who you think will do the better job. Find out there core values and strengths, and belief system. Don't let others make up you mind, because of something they heard, someone say, that he said, she said.
Undoubtedly, just like TV social media is here to stay and becoming more technical everyday as well, and we have to face the fact that politicians and politics are going to be played out in this type of forum. A disadvantage to all of this is that people tend not to pay much attention, not as much as some think they do, so just how effective is this type of
