In Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, there is one person who causes destruction because of her evil and selfish ways. In the play, jealousy and self interest play a big part for this character. She puts her own lies and selfish ways above others to save herself, even though she’s the one who sinned. This character is Abigail Williams. In the beginning Abigail Williams and Betty Parris were found dancing in the forest with a bunch of others. The person who caught them was Reverend Parris, Betty parris’ father. The reason they were dancing in the forest was to rid all the woman of the men these girls wanted. They were willing to do witchcraft to have these men.
