The topic of abortion is becoming so relevant that it is even being talked about around the dinner table. Whether you are for it, or against it; we can probably all agree that it’s a controversial and hard to swallow topic.
In the Wade Vs Roe trial, Roe is a Texan woman wanting to terminate her pregnancy by abortion. Under Texas law, abortion was illegal unless it was to save the individuals life. This case took place in the 1970’s when there was still great talk about the feminist movements of the 1960’s. Norma McCorvey filed a lawsuit claiming that a Texas law criminalizing abortion violated her constitutional rights. On January 22, 1973, the United States Supreme Court ruled that it did, in fact, violate Roe’s constitutional right to privacy.
