In the past, I have had the opportunity to visit Washington D.C. in four occurrences. Many summers or breaks, my family endured long trips to the north to visit relatives. After traversing through several train stations, the capital of the United States came upon us. Only being a young girl, I could not identify a building’s name and as I grew, I had forgotten their appearance. But as each visiting period went by, I continued to refresh the wavering memories one by one. One of the first buildings that captured my view was a rather towering and slender structure. It initially appeared as if a giant needle were sticking out of the ground. Later, I would immediately distinguish it as the famous Washington Monument celebrated for the renowned George Washington. One of the most distinct memories I hold is walking right up to the stone building and looking up, and instantly the fright that overcame me of the structure’s sudden plummet. All the flying colors of every flag wrapped around in a circle, and it gave the impression of even more magnificence against the plain colors of its walls.

The Smithsonian Museum carries several counterparts of history, American, Natural, Air and Space and many more. The vast amount of exhibits which I have observed give me no time to focus just on one. Museums consistently alter their exhibits to reflect artifacts of history. Inside the museum of natural history, the first exhibit greets my eye instantly.
