During his time Congress had just pass the Kansas Nebraska Act, which repealed the Missouri Compromise, and allowed states to make the decision for themselves to allow slavery or not. That soon awakened Abraham because his views on slavery was more toward to moral indignation. At the same time Abraham Lincoln felt that African Americans were not equal to whites but he believed in that the founders intended that all men were created with certain rights. An as during presidency slaves were freed but he made the proclamation acts towards it. During his presidency he faced disagreement and defiance, he was often at odds with his party and majority of the American people. After Union Victory at Antietam, Lincoln felt so confident
