Poverty
In 1950, absolute poverty* had almost disappeared from Britain and some other.
Relative poverty, (when you cannot afford the things most people have) was still in the late 20th century and that increased in the 1980s. The cause of that was partly due to mass unemployment and partly due the raising number of children after world war two. During the 1980s the difference between rich and poor increased as the well off benefited from tax cuts. (*Absolute poverty is not having enough money to eat or afford enough clothes)
