Bob Marley once said, “The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just gotta find the ones worth suffering for.” Bob Marley is suggesting that nobody's perfect and people will always hurt you but you have to find somebody that's worth getting hurt over. This relates to Absolutely True Diary because Junior the main character in the book has a bestfriend who is a troubled kid and they get in a fight but still thinks of Rowdy as his best friend because he believes he's worth it. So you can already see that Junior has a person vs. person conflict with his best friend Rowdy.

One day at school Junior throws a book at a teacher. Later that week the teacher shows up to his house and talks to him. The teacher tells him that he should move schools because there's nothing there for him and he could have more opportunity somewhere else. So junior thought about it and made the decision to move but he had to tell Rowdy. After telling him Rowdy said, “Don't touch me you retarded fag!” After Junior decided to move the first person he told was Rowdy. Rowdy didn't believe him at first but Junior told him he was serious. After, Rowdy got mad and told Junior not to touch him. This shows just how mad he was at Junior. After telling Rowdy the news, he started yelling at Junior and saying mean things to him. Junior tried to grab Rowdy's shoulder but he just shrugged him off. Junior kept talking and tried to grab Rowdy's shoulder again but this time Rowdy turned around and, “Bang!
