America is a wonderful country with many promises and opportunities given to everyone equally, or so one would think. From the outside, it is very easy to assume that this country is fair and equal to all, and because of this many believe that by simply coming to America all of their dreams and wishes will be granted. In some eyes this may be true, however, there are many that believe differently. While some may believe that America provides entire access to the American dream, because there are so many different opportunities available, others would agree that America provides the basic needs to achieve the American Dream, leaving most of the work towards success to be done by the individual on their own because each person’s goals and efforts …show more content…
They believe that even with these small luxuries, any person could take a turn down the wrong path and intentionally or unintentionally make their life worse. The same would go for people who aren’t granted these privileges such as minorities or immigrants. Many would like to believe that the U.S. always follows through with these promises however the reality is that it doesn’t always go as planned. Even though there are rules set in place to make the country equal, certain people still face discrimination and neglect and don’t always gets the rights that were given to them. Although, in these cases it is also easier for one to see how people can rise from poverty or hardships without any help from the government. There are many so called “rags to riches” stories that come from very successful people who were treated harshly in their youth’s and didn’t receive any helpful support from the country. In addition to neglectful treatment for some, there are many things unique to the American government that could prevent a person from being successful such as high bills and taxes, falling economy, job loss, and high costs for the everyday necessities needed to live comfortably. Overall, whether or not America grants them these rights or promises doesn’t have much of an effect on success because they could be given them and make bad
