Envision being in high school and being accused of killing an ex-girlfriend out of pure anger. What if you became the main suspect and then had your entire future ripped from your grasps? This horrendous life experience isn't just any story to tell, but the story of Adnan Syed. Adnan Syed was just an ordinary teenage boy, until the day of January 13th, 1999, when his ex- girlfriend, Hae Min Lee, went missing. In the case, the police automatically went after Adnan, just because Hae recently broke up with him, providing a “motive” for the arrest, which later was able to be disproved. In the case Adnan vs The People, Adnan is believed to be innocent because the night of Haes death he had an alibi, the story Jay gave to the police about Adnan doesn't match up with the cell records and other witnesses, and the motive the police used to put Adnan away is weak and is easily disproved. One of the biggest reasons why Adnan is believed to be innocent is he does in fact have an alibi the day that Hae was killed. Asia McClain, or now known as Asia Champman, who was an old classmate of Adnan, admitted to being with Adnan in the Woodlawn school library on January 13th. Her statement explains how she was at the library waiting for her boyfriend when around 2:15 Adnan walked in. She explained that they talked for about 15 to 20 minutes until her boyfriend showed up. The only testimony that supports Adnan’s guilt was made by the very guy who would lie to save himself over anyone else.The fact that someone came forward to say they saw Adnan outweighs any testimony given by Jay.. Therefore it is conclusive, in the case Adnan Syed vs The People, Adnan is not the one who is guilty of killing Hae Min
