Staring at the cell door, I see the bright light as it moves down the corridor. Before it reaches me, I look away, waiting to hear my name.

The light shines on me, and I here in a loud, gruff voice, "Adrian Hale?"

"Here,"I reply quickly.

Last time I missed nightly check, it was pretty gruesome. The sirens went off, and I was tackled to the ground. I just wasn't exactly sure at the time where I was supposed to be, it was only my second day there. They took me to a room, I was questioned, and then let off the hook, thankfully. I won't miss anything else after that episode. My cellmate looks over at me and I stare back at him. I sighed. Never thought I would end up here either. I guess I just hung out with the wrong people. I was drunk and stealing. Not the greatest thing to be doing in a big city with a lot of officers. I don't even remember the night, my buddy that drove me had to explain what happened. He said I had had a little too much to drink that night, and then I had asked him to take me to someone's house.
