The novel Thursday's child explores the concept of adversity in two different perspectives, positively and negatively. In the 1920's in Australia, this was when the Great War had just ended and the Great Depression had just started. The Great Depression was when there was no food, no jobs, no money and no clothes. The only thing that could hold all these families together and that was the bond of love and trust. The novel explores the ideas of love and trust and makes it have more meaning.
