Around the time period of 1870’s and 1900 was when the Europeans, which were the industrialized colonies who took over the Africans land, In their saying they are bringing the Africans to civilization

There are three motives for European Imperialism, including the Political motive, social motive, and Economic motive which is Industrial Revolution. The most important motive that was the driving for the European Imperialism of Africa is the Economic Motive.

One of the driving forces behind European imperialism was Social attitude. Evidence of this is from the quotes which states that, “To wait in heavy harness, On fluttered folk and wild- Your new-caught, sullen peoples, Half-devil and half-child,” ( Doc F). Social attitude helped drive imperialism
