Throughout the last week or so we have studied how racial profiling works and essentially what it is. This last Thursday in class we watched a documentary involving African Americans and how racial profiling has affected them. Most of the members interviewed started by telling a story of what had happened or by explaining how it had made them feel. All the African Americans interviewed believed that they were pulled over because of their race having them feel a bit nervous and uneasy as the officers detained them for no reason. Some of the people interviewed were indeed cops almost completely denying the fact that any sort of racial profiling is taking place and that they profile based on different factors, not on race.
