The project “Afterlife: The Science of Decay” is a experiment to see the effects of decay on food and dead animal. In this experiment the scientist built a room and place various food and dead animals in the box. Some of these were dead rats, vegetables, sandwiches, dead pigs, and various meats. To start the decay flies were placed in the box to start the insect decay. Fungus was already present in the air so there was no need to add fungai. The scientist also added sexton beetles to the rat.
Insects mostly ate the meat based products and the sugar products. After the flies eat out the dead carcass; they lay larvae inside the carcass to reproduce. Next, the larvae hatch until they eat all the food. Once all the food was gone they fly population
