“All Summer in a Day” written by Ray Bradbury is a science fiction short story. Margot is the protagonist. She is from Earth, living on Venus in a world of sameness. Margot and her classmates are excited to see the sun. All of Margot’s classmates comprehend that Margot is different and lock her in a closet and go enjoy the sun while she is stuck there. Margot is happy when she is learning or talking about the sun. But, all of her classmates just act like it is any other topic in school. “All Summer in a Day” teaches readers that sameness is bad because there is no change and no experimenting with the world.

They all have a light bulb moment where they realize that they are like her and they have the same love for the sun as she does. They learn that what other people think or say can be a good thing. Because whenever the characters were in school learning about the sun Margot was always engaged and happy. While her classmates acted like it was no big deal.
“All Summer in a Day” teaches readers that sameness is bad because there is no change and no experimenting with the world. With sameness, comes no change and with no change results with no experimenting with the world. The world gains knowledge from experiences. With experiences comes answers, compassion, and love. Sameness is not a satisfying thing. No one person is the same as their neighbor. We are all different and that is what makes each one of us unique. Now picture you go to a foreign planet where everyone there is accustomed to the planet's climate. Also, all the people know the way of life and know everyone. You are the “different” person that has to try to fit in when everyone notices your difference and doesn’t think good of
