Alvin York is known as the most decorated World War I soldier in history. He was a man, who was known for his conflict between duty to his country and not wanting to kill. He is the most well-known soldier in the World War I, and forever remembered for his bravery on the battle field. However, back home he is remembered as the man, who built a high school and a bible school for all the kids of the region.
He is recognized for many things throughout his life. Most notably, in the war he was known for taking the lead of his troop after all his superiors had been killed; and then he lead his squad to capture the army that was pinning them down.
