At work today I asked the elder members of the community who attend the center to provide me with a list of topics related to aging that they would like to learn more about. The topic that came up the most were "Is there anything I can do to reduce the risk of getting Alzheimer's disease?" and "I've heard there might be a link between diet and Alzheimer's. Is it true?" Alzheimer's is a progressive disease that destroys memory and other important mental functions. It's a type of dementia that develops overtime. Certain medications and treatments may help manage symptoms like memory loss, but there is no cure. Alzheimer’s is one of the most feared disease. About 5.4 million people have Alzheimer's disease. It's the 6th leading cause of death.
