In Italy she found herself an Italian man named Raffaele Sollecito. They found Amanda’s roommate Meredith Kercher dead in her bedroom November 1, 2007. Everyone the police have as suspects to the murder claim that they are innocent. Amanda and Raffaele both claim they were together in Raffaele's apartment that night. Even the man in jail for Meredith's murder today claims he is innocent. Rudy Guede says he was in the bathroom when she was murdered. He heard a scream and ran to check on her. He then saw a figure in the window and then looked back at Meredith to find her dead. The case of Meredith’s death was so controversial that they had convicted two different people for the murder. First, they were convinced it was Amanda Knox. Because, Amanda had no alibi they said she was home with Raffele. Meredith walked in on Amanda, Raffaele, and Rudy Meredith got mad and started yelling at Amanda. Amanda yelled back and proceeded to cut her with a knife and let Raffaele and Rudy rape her. The jury bought the story and gave the verdict. Amanda and Raffaele are guilty. Then, they had an appeal. In the appeal everything points to Guede. Guede’s DNA was all over the crime scene. All the DNA evidence with Amanda was said to be not good. The DNA specialist said there was cross contamination that caused Meredith’s DNA to be on the knife that supposedly killed her. The police physically hurt Amanda. She claims a policeman was hitting her and yelling at her that she needs to remember. Amanda says she changed her story because, of this mistreatment. The police also mentally hit Amanda and Raffaele They told Raffaele that Amanda didn’t like him at all, which made him turn on Amanda and change his story saying that she wasn’t with him that night. Another horrible mental game the police played on Amanda was telling her she had HIV. They wanted to get a list of the people she has slept with regarding the case. This was a step over police boundaries, because she wrote in her diary what they wanted to get, but the information didn't stay private it went out to the whole world. The media also mistreated Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito. They gave Amanda a terrible nickname. They called her Foxy Knoxy. They told lies about all the men she has ever slept with calling her even worse names than Foxy Knoxy. The title they gave Amanda made her seem like this sex obsessed person that wasn’t human at all. They also found the worst photos of Amanda and Raffaele. They had Amanda with the craziest look in her eyes with a machine gun. Then they had Raffaele dressed as a mummy with an ax. Worst of all they leaked Amanda’s prison diary. This had her deepest thoughts while she was in prison. It had her thoughts of killing herself, her claiming she is innocent, and her whole
