The American Freedom Party calls itself a Nationalist party that shares the beliefs of European American people ("Platform"). They have an interest in boarder protection, and preserving the English language. They believe that power should be with the states, and the federal government should only have those powers granted by the constitution. They believe that the spying of the federal government on its citizens should end, and a fence should be built around the US boarders to secure it from illegal immigration ("Platform"). The party believes in the right to keep and bear arms to protect against the government. They do not believe in feminism or homosexuality nor do they want the government telling people how to live their lives. Parents should …show more content…
The Libertarians believe in three main items: personal liberty, economic liberty and the right to secure liberty ("Libertarian Party Platform"). Personal liberty has to do with having full rights over one’s body. If one wants to use alcohol that is their choice. They oppose government censorship and government spying on its citizens. They do not feel the government has the right discriminate based on gender or sexual orientation in issues of marriage or adoption ("Libertarian Party Platform"). Government has no right to regulate abortion. They believe in repealing all crimes without a victim like drug crimes, and are strong believers in the right to bear arms, and protect one’s self and property. Libertarians believe in a free economic market where everyone has an equal chance at success ("Libertarian Party Platform"). Citizens should have the right to use their property as they see fit as long as no one is harmed in doing so. They support a clean environment and the sensible use of resources, but do not support government subsidizing any form of energy or control over energy pricing ("Libertarian Party Platform"). They want to repeal the income tax, and believe citizens should keep what they earn. The party wants a balanced budget by cutting spending and not raising taxes. They believe the minimum wage should be $15/hour, and that workers should have ownership in their companies. All banking organizations should be publically owned, and there should be a maximum income of ten times the minimum ("Socialist Party USA: 2013-2015 National Platform"). There should be a full employment policy and a guaranteed annual income for all persons. Unemployment should be paid at 100% of the person’s previous salary. Any third world debt should be cancelled, and corporations should not get any tax breaks ("Socialist Party USA: 2013-2015 National Platform"). Socialists believe, the United States should close all its military bases, and remove any troops throughout the world. They want the CIA and NSA abolished, all weapons of mass destruction destroyed, and a cut of the military budget of 50% ("Socialist Party USA: 2013-2015 National Platform"). The party also supports leaving NATO and the UN. They believe going to war should be voted on by the citizens, and ending the production of drones. In terms of their views on labor, the socialist party believes in a 30 hour work week, everyone is entitled to overtime, and six weeks paid vacation ("Socialist Party USA: 2013-2015 National Platform").
