In the award-winning film American Sniper, Chris Kyle, a Navy S.E.A.L feels the effects that time over seas can bring. Kyle became famous within the military for being one of the best snipers that the United States Military had ever seen. Chris Kyle, left the United States to serve in the Middle East on four tours. He left behind his beloved wife and children on those four accounts. In his time overseas he was in direct contact with the tragedy and chaos that war brings. In between each of his tours, his time at home was a blur defined by a an inability to connect. Because of these symptoms couples with his nightmares, and detached personality, a diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder would be fitting. PTSD affect Kyle’s life monumentally in addition to affecting his family. His wife was the person who noticed the differences in her husband most clearly. After his first deployment, she could tell that he had seen things that left him forever changed. She said to him, “You have to make it back to us.” While he was physically present in their home, his
