David Belasco was an American theatrical playwright, director and producer, which attempted to bring authenticity to the admired melodrama through particular detail in setting and lighting. He is the reason why the directors such as Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, and Christopher Nolan in focus their dominant personality in their movies.
Belasco has been associated with the production of nearly 400 plays, most of them written or customized by him. His plays have virtually no lasting value.
