A domestic dog does what it is told by their owner without argument. Dogs are very loyal, graceful and loving to their owners and families, they thank them for everything they have done. In the book Fifteen Dogs by Andre Alexis, Majnoun experiences a new perspective to life that has not been explored by any other normal dog. Hermes and Apollo have the given fifteen dogs human intelligence which lead towards their demise, Majnoun is one of those fifteen dogs. She will now feel more isolated and alone because she and the other dogs are now different than all other species, they have the ability that no other species will understand and comprehend. She will have to grow with this new intelligence and learn to use it towards her advantage. To conclude, in the novel Fifteen Dogs by Andre Alexis, Majnoun and the other dogs experience’s character progression through isolation by showing independence by not wanting to go back to their masters, taking responsibility in developing skills to better further their survival and making friendships to have a better chance at surviving.
