An Animal’s Pain
In science laboratories, statistics show that over 100 million animals each year are tormented in the U.S. Mice has been the universal and primary research organism model instead of humans for centuries. For example, even though mice are versatile and a great option, most of the time as well as other animals such as dogs, monkeys and rabbits are abused and tortured. They show emotions and a similar extent of pain just as humans do, hence it is a good reason not to preform brutal experiments on them. It is unfair due to the fact that we are stronger and more intelligent than them, this doesn’t give us the privilege that allows us to sacrifice them for our sake and convenience especially while the “level of suffering and the number of animals involved are

This could result in proceeding too far for the “benefits” at the cost of millions of animal’s lives per year for the sake of the human species despite the risk. As a result, this leads to dehumanization and impersonalization of the researchers and causes degradation of the research environment. An example of a harsh experiment, revealed by the PETA(PETA is an organization that educates policymakers and the public about animal abuse.), they have exposed that the University of California and University of Utah preforms unethical experiments such as giving the mice “enormous tumors and painful, deadly illnesses. Rats had holes drilled into their skulls for invasive brain experiments”. (Mice and Rats in Laboratories, n.d.) The PETA also obtained evidence that the University of California violated veterinary guide lines by refusing to give pre surgical anesthetics for surgery and amputations. Similar painful experiments are also done on primates such as chimpanzees and rhesus monkeys which experience mental
