“To be an American”
Being an American has many things that come along with it. Being an American can be either good or it can be bad. It's based on how you plan your life out to be. An American is not to be someone who just expects everyone to just hand everything to them. Americans have to work to be successful. To be an American means that you have your privileges, your freedom, and your responsibilities. America might have its ups and downs when it comes to those three things, but we are one of the few countries that have rights that are given to the people.
What do you think of when you hear the words, American or America? The first thing might be “Free” because that is what it is. A free country with free people. Americans are given something that many probably dream of having one day, and that is freedom. But why is it that some americans take that freedom for granted? Is it because they aren't thankful for those who fought for us? Is it because they think it's just …show more content…
It doesn't mean that americans can have everything in the world for free such as food, a car, a house, etc.. But what it does mean is that people who live in America have the freedom to make his or her own decisions about what the outcome of their life will be. Such as who will be our next president, or who will be the major of their town. Americans have their freedoms, such as freedom of speech, freedom to bare arms, etc. As Americans we have the opportunity to decide how we will our lifes day in and day out because of those freedoms that we are given.
The next thing that is being American is privileges. Privileges are just like the freedoms, and rights that we are given. But they all are also different in away. Privileges that we have are like we get to vote, that is a privilege that we are given we don't know have to have it but we do.
