The second type of Italian that will be discussed in the essay is an outsider Italian, a outsider Italian, a outsider Italian is made when someone of no Italian background is wed into a Italian family, an outsider Italian is technically not a Italian but is now around and involved with Italians, Kay Adams Corleone is a perfect example of an outsider Italian and she will be the topic of examination in the section of the essay. The main factor to being a outsider Italian is being clueless of Italian culture. This is clearly evident in Kay Adams Corleone. The next quote is the quote that displays Michael turning point where he is following the family tradition of being in the mafia. “I can help out,”(Puzo.92) this was the first time Michael offers to help with his father endeavors and it is this helping that he does that leads him to killing someone and entering into the ways of the mafia. The final quote makes it evident that Michael has now fully changed from being the secluded Italian who is not involved with his Italian mafia family to the new Don and completely replacing his father after his death. “The bloody victory of the Corleone Family was not complete until a year of delicate political maneuvering establish Michael Corleone as the most powerful family chief in the United States. ” (Puzo.440), this final quotation shows that he is successful as the new Don and it show that he certainly has under gone change seeing as he started off not involved with the mafia but now he is running the most successful mafia family in the United
