In Ishmael Beah's book A Long Way Gone, Ishmael kills many people and destroys villages to get revenge.To illustrate my point, Ishamel and his friends are trying to find their parents in another town but when they get their everything is destroyed and everyone who lived their is gone which causes Ishmael to join the army. In the text Ishmael says "mI didn't feel a thing for him.... The prisoner was simply another rebel who was responsible for the death of my family" (Beah 124). This evidence supports my claim and thesis because it proves how Ishamel acted because he wanted revenge so badly. In,addition Ishmael wants to stay in the army because he wants to get revenge for his dead friends that the rebels killed. In the text Ishmael states "
