People’s attitudes toward normality and abnormality are constantly shifting. As Allan Horwitz illustrates in “What is Normal”, “Conceptions of normality and abnormality are inherently ties to the practices and beliefs of specific communities, which vary widely across groups and over time” (2016:13). As time goes on, people’s beliefs change and policy evolves, what is normal in the past may be abnormal in today. Similarly, what is abnormal in today can be normal in the future. For example, fast food consumption is gradually considered as normal in the future, while not so many people heard about fast food couple of years ago. As people’s lifestyle change over time, so does their eating habit. By contrast, people’s attitude of having many children changed, more and more people decide to have a smaller family size. According to current trend, having many children may be abnormal in the future.

The development of fast food industry benefits most people, and even the whole country. For people who work in the fast food industry, they benefit from the popular of fast food. Even for other people, they benefit from low price and high efficiency of fast food. According to a statistical data, the annual fast food revenue of America is 0.11 trillion. Without fast food industry, many people will lose their jobs. With high unemployment rate, the U.S. economy will be in depression. Although I cannot deny that fast food is currently not very good to our healthy, however, there are some fast food restaurants where you can choose what kind of meats and sauces to add, like Subway. By doing so, fast food can be health. Moreover, with the development of technology, I believe fast food can be healthier in the
