A nested structure, or frame tale, comprises of several stories that are told within a larger “framework” plot, much like a Russian nesting doll. The frame tale is an open-ended question that allows many narratives to emerge within the frame, and at times the tales can become extensively nested, with characters telling stories of characters telling stories.
