The passage, “Harrison Bergeron” by Kurt Vonnegut is about some people in the society that could not accept the fact that people were better than others, so they tried making them equal by making people wear a little mental handicap radio in their ear to stop them from being better than others. People could not use part of their brain because they were “too smart,” “Every twenty seconds or so, the transmitter would send out some sharp noise to keep people like George from taking unfair advantage of their brains” (1). Some people could not accept the fact that some people are better than others in how they look or how they are. They wanted to make everyone equal, so if they were smarter they would hear an awful noise in their ear to stop them
