In Eighth grade, was the first time I saw in my Catholic church the play La Virgen de Tepeyac and was captivated and took the presentation to heart. The play was about how the Virgin is appearing to an elderly man that United Aztecs and Spanish conquerors. I decided to join the play the following year. Since freshman year, I have participated in La Virgen Del Tepeyac play as one of the townspeople. My sophomore year I became a musician in the play. We would practice in September until we performed in December. We would present in various churches and convey the message of the Virgin Mary. For four years, I have enacted the play and never get tired of it. Furthermore, my understanding of my faith grew. It brought me many amazing new bonds and connections. The best part of performing was seeing the breathtaking and awe looks when they saw the Virgin Mary appear. Playing the violin gave the play more emotion and was a feature I always emphasize. Nowadays, I am participating bringing awareness and carry out this tradition that we have in our parish and culture.Part of my faith is to be selfless and devoted to serving others.
