This astounding, remarkable documentary film focuses on Lale Labuko’s story and his efforts in trying to stop “mingi” practices which has plagued his tribe as well as many others for centuries. Lale Labuko, who was from the Kara tribe in Ethiopia, saw that “mingi” children were getting killed almost every day because the tribal elders believed that “mingi” children were cursed and that they would be no good for the tribe. Lale Labuko decided to start rescuing the “mingi” children in spite of what the elders said. He fought for what he believed and was able to show his tribe the “mingi” children are normal and they do not need to be killed.
