My first impression of this image is of a girl holding a small red book, melting down the bank of a river and into the water. As a first impression, it's not the happiest one, but upon further inspection, that black shadow at the girls' feet turns into a black angel, and it becomes apparent that the girl is made of letters and pages, like a book. The girl in this picture is Liesel Meminger, and the black angel is death.
