We have seen Queer theory change within time and seen its evolution form into different meanings and different perspectives. In the reading “Making Queer Theory” written by Max Hirsch he believes that Queer theorist would come to conclusion that “its broad sweep and encompassing constitution have quite enough justification to warrant the support of academic policy committees, and beyond the academy, the political arena.” (Hirsch, 34). The word queer till this day has its controversial use on what means. Back in the older times the word queer was seen as something bad in the western culture. Queer theory wants to break down those categories and feel free to express their sexuality and gender. Queer theory started emerging in the late 1990’s.
