In the poem “Saigon is Gone” The author Thanhha Lai describes how Saigon fell by using a nervous tone. In the poem “Saigon is Gone” the author states that the communists are attacking, with all the bombs they have left, “ the Communists are dropping all the bombs they have left”(pg 67). The words dropping all the bombs gives a nervous tone and the people on the boat must have been nervous because they might have been bombed.
