In the fable, The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas, by John Boyne, it showed how Bruno was both brave and coward.
For instance, on page 171-172 it how Bruno showed act of being a coward. “He’s my friend,” he added. “Your… began lieutenant Kotler,”… “Do you know this boy, Bruno?”… “Bruno’s mouth dropped open and he tried to remember the way you used your mouth to say the word “yes”…” “Have you been talking to the prisoners?”… “I’ve never spoken to him,” said Bruno immediately. “I’ve never seen him before in my life. I don’t know him.” Based on those two pages it showed how Bruno was scared to tell the truth, and was coward and lied. Because, him and Shmuel in fact did know each other. Bruno wasn’t supposed to be around Shmuel or even be friends with him, but Bruno and Shmuel became the best of friends. I once went out the way for this girl that I knew I shouldn’t be friends with, but she was different around me and she became my best friend, I couldn’t just leave her said in a time I knew she needed me the most. So I went out my way and did whatever she needed me to do, she was my true friend. In the actual movie The boy in the Striped Pajamas, When Bruno and Shmuel were walking around looking for Shmuels “pa”, Bruno started to coward out. He told Shmeul, “Maybe it’s time, I go back home.” But the braveness came back to him for Shumel said “what about me pa?” Shmeul is Bruno’s best friend so I feel like Bruno started showing his braveness for Shmeul, since they were (best friends for life.)
