In “The Pedestrian”, Ray Bradbury demonstrates how the overwhelming addiction to technology creates a dark and lonely outside world through the characters and the setting. One example from the text is when Mr.Mead gets in the police car and realizes that there is nobody in the car. This shows that technology is controlling the world because the cars are self driving. There are no people that actually work in the police force. Everyone stays inside. Also in the text it says, “the street was silent long and empty”. This is describing the setting and how it is dark and gloomy outside and there is nobody out walking with Mr.Mead. He is alone. The only one not addicted to technology.
