Thomas Paine’s Common Sense expressed the anti-British views of the Colonies in a way so unique that it forever changed the face of political thought in America. Published on January 10, 1977, Common Sense called for Americans to separate themselves from the damaged British system, and become independent. Paine was all about common sense, the way he spoke to people was through using the bible. Essentially Thomas’s readings gave people the voice they needed to express their frustration of the unfair treatment from the British rulers. The common sense pamphlet inspired the Founding Fathers to create a new government for their new country. The document was read by a number of colonists, and united a great majority of them to become independent.
