Is culture a straight, permanent line? Does one’s culture stay the same, or can people adapt to make varying cultures work to their advantage? Are sibling-related cultures more similar than not? The way individuals are raised and the morals and values they have been taught affect how one views the world. Culture can greatly influence one’s views on the world and others by changing one’s lifestyle, fitting into a crowd, adapting to one’s new life, or wanting to stand out in an ‘average’ world.

"Bodies still several time zones or centuries away, and they stepped into the ‘promised land’(Iyer).” You have to look at it from a different perspective, because it is a new experience to the person, a perspective of new arrivals. It shows that a certain ethnic group stays with their group and does not mix with others. The story takes place in the International airport of LA, where a lot of ethnic groups are found. As this happens, people discover new cultural groups of other people, especially if they step on foreign land. The title, “Where Worlds Collide”, gives you an outlook already. It practically means when different cultures with different life styles meet each other and discover somebody that isn't like them. An airport is a place where worlds do collide, with this happening, one’s culture influences another as they meet and look at it from a whole different perspective. For example, someone living here in the United States and someone living in China has different cultural beliefs and outlooks on the world. If the one from the United States goes to China or the person from china goes to the US, they'd have to adapt to a different lifestyle. They'd be hit with many cultures and beliefs as they meet someone from that foreign land. By all means is that one’s culture could really have a strong impact on another person, it just all depends on when the two cultures
