This Valentines Day weekend was a big weekend for the box offices and for 80’s reboots apparently. This weekend 80’s reboot list had “RoboCop”(Sony Corp., originally released in 1987) starring Gary Oldman and Michael Keaton, “Endless Love”(Universal, originally released in 1981) Starring Alex Pettyfer and Gabriella Wilde, and “About Last Night”(Sony Corp., originally released in 1986) starring Kevin Hart and Regina Hall. The non-80’s reboots in theaters this weekend were “The Monuments Men”(Sony Corp.) directed, co-written and starring George Clooney also starring Matt Damon, Kate Blanchett, and Bill Murray, “Winter’s Tale”(Warner Bros.) starring Colin Farrell, Jessica Brown Findlay, Russell Crowe, and Jennifer Connelly, but the dominant film of this weekend was the king from last weekend, “The Lego Movie”(Warner Bros.) voiced by Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks and Morgan Freeman.

“The Lego Movie” topped the box office this weekend bringing in $48.8 million, which is a total gross of $129 million on a $60 million budget. “About Last Night”(Sony Corp.) came in second this weekend bringing in $27 million, which is the total gross because this is their opening weekend but is great on a $12.5 million budget. In third was “RoboCop”(Sony Corp.) earning $21 million on a $100 million budget. The rest all earned under $20 million; “The Monuments Men”(Sony Corp.) $15 million, “Endless Love”(Universal) $13.3 million, “Winter’s Tale”(Warner Bros.) $7.7 million.
