Someone once said, "In difficult times, in dark times, some people shine." Even in the darkest of times in July of 1944, Anne Frank kept a bright outlook, which made her shine. Throughout those cruel times of 1944, the holocaust was happening. During the holocaust, a man named Adolf Hitler started a group called the Nazis. The group set out to kill Jewish people. The dilemma was that Anne's family was Jewish. For 2 years Anne never stepped foot outside, since she was hiding in a Secret Annex with 7 other family and friends. Throughout this time, 6 million people died, yet Anne Frank did not let all this sadness and terror control her. Instead, she was an optimist and a wild adolescent who made it clear that she would not fall into oblivion. In The Diary of Anne Frank, her story unfolds in front of our eyes. A quote found written in her diary and on page 347 of the play read, "I want to go on living even after my death," which means, when she dies, she wants to leave behind a legacy. She wanted someone to remember her long after she passes away. If her legacy is alive, then someone will remember her and she will "Live On" even after she has perished. Another way to think about this is that if she keeps living even after her death, she could truly be at peace.

"Who would ever think that so much went on in the soul of a young girl?" The diary that her father gave her when she was merely thirteen years old, has made an impact on the world like no diary has ever done before. When her father gifted her with that diary, neither he nor Anne knew that it would captivate the world. Anne was an optimistic, wild, and self-willed young adult who made it clear she should not fall into oblivion. She will never fall into oblivion, yet leave a lasting impact on the world that she left too
