Cold Mountain is a historical novel during the civil war and two people who love each other that are caught in the middle of it. Inman is a damage war soldier who takes a journey across America after being injured in a battle and now he tries to find the woman he loves Ada who is a young farmer girl. While Inman was in the hospital mainly he looks out the window, staring at the mountains.The view brought old memories from his past back home in Black Cove with his love Ada. Before her father died, she took care of her father Monroe, who has passed away on her watch and her father left her the farm. Ada wanted to go home to Black Cove and not go back to Charlottesville.
