The painting Las meninas was painted by two different painters that are both good at what they do. They both did a good job on the painting Las meninas. The pictures were both very different and they don't look like they are portraying the same thing in the picture.

In this painting I think that Velàzquez was trying to portray that the princess thinks that she's better then all of her attendants and that they are useless. The reason that I think that is because you can not see the attendants face in the painting. Also He painted the princess´ face green, blue, and black which are dark colors, and those colors could be representing her personality. I think that Picasso was trying to portray a loving young princess that admires all of her attendants. The attendant looks like she is getting the princess ready for something. Also you can see the detail in all of the attendants faces.

One way that the pictures are similar is that the pictures both have at least one attendant with the girl. Though the attendants look very different from one another, they are both still considered attendants. Another similarity is that both pictures include the princess. The princess is the main part of the picture, so without the princess the picture would not be the same. There are also many differences as well, and one of them is the background in the painting. In Picasso´s painting the background just plain black, but in Velàzquez´s painting there is furniture, a mirror and he painted himself into the picture. Another difference is the amount of attendants in the picture. In Velàzquez´s painting there are 4 attendants, but in Picasso´s painting there is only 1 attendant that has no detail
