Analyzing Romero's Going To The Olympics

In the art "Going to the Olympics, 1984" by Frank Romero I am able to see various types of symbols in his art work representing the time of the 1984 Olympics. This image shows five different cars, each one with a different color and these colors would represent the Olympic rings. The five colors of the cars and the Olympic rings each represents a different continent participating in the Olympics of 1984 such as North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. The painting also shows two wrestlers locking up which could represent the wrestling sport in the Olympics. Also, there is a horse whinny in triumph as well as other symbols that the artist pays honor to our shows the joyous lifestyle of Los Angeles.
Frank Romero is very positive when it comes to Los Angeles's car culture as his art “Going to the Olympics” is a warm welcoming especially if it was during the summer of 1984. The bright colors of Romero's art as well as symbols show the joy in Los Angeles. Murals should be displayed for the public to see, but in museums, maybe not in freeways, but if they were to be displayed on freeways at least offer security or surveillance. These pieces of art are worth protecting because of their cultural background and popularity.
