In cold blood by Truman Capote chapter one the last to see them alive page 62 capote describes the events in a matter of fact. Capote uses scenes to set the tone, a tone of empathy showed through his characters became more compassionate: for example, The morning the clutters have been found in their home. Nancy’s scene, he writes, “she was lying on her side, facing the wall, and the wall was covered with blood. The bed covers where drawn up her shoulders. Sheriff Robinson, he pulled them back, and we saw that she was wearing a bathrobe, pajamas, socks, and slippers - like whenever it happened she had not gone to bed yet” page 52.
