Depending on your location or your geography you can be given some advantages in creating a civilization in the ancient world. Your geographic location can provide many things that are important to making a successful ancient civilization. The Middle East, China, and The Stone Age are great examples of this geographic luck. Each was given something different and it helped them thrive as times were changing. The Middle East was given a lot more then most including The Nile River, and being in the Fertile Crescent. In Document 5, it shows the Fertile Crescent and in this you can see that ancient civilization was going to thrive. They had a lot available to them like rivers and the sea which can provide food like fish or a way to trade. In Document 6, it shows how appreciative Egyptians were of the Nile, “Praise to thee, O Nile, that issues from the earth and comes to nourish Egypt” The Nile gave them many things to use like “…barley and wheat..” or “nourishes all cattle” In Document 7, you can see that Mohenjo-Daro was a successful ancient civilization located in Pakistan with the luck to be around the Fertile Crescent. They have a city that was built that looks like it was very successful. It was located near many rivers, streams, and the ocean. In Document 2, you can see the Huang-He or the Yellow River as well as the Chang-Jiang River. Both of these rivers flow through most of the civilizations in China. The benefits of this are there would always be drinking water and food like fish. Also in Document 4, The Legend of Yu states “I opened the passages for the streams throughout the nine provinces, and conducted them to the sea.
