Through out Andrew Jackson's presideny he had a lot of ideas like when he opposed the american system. Accomplishments such as when he paid off the us national debt, and one of his failures wasv when he destroyed the second national bank of the us. Andrew Jackson had many accomplishments during his presidency. He had managed to pay off the United States national debt that was over $75 million dollars. He was elected president of the United States in 1828. Jacksons campaign was aggressive and he won by a landslide! He was the first to use a direct campaign. He was one of the few with a limited education. He was the first president from the west and he was the first president from the working class. He is famous for the battle of New Orleans in the war of 1812. He was given the national recognition. After winning a major battle in this war, Jackson was promoted to major general in the U.S. Army, with command of Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Jackson was then warned that the british were coming and that he needed to be prepared for their attack. Andrew jackson also had failures through out his presidency. He failed in election bid in 1824 because though he received a majority of the popular and electoral votese, the constitution directed that the election had to be decided by Congress.
