The book I chose to read was Tears Of A Tiger. After winning their basketball game, Andy Jackson and his friends decide to go for a ride to ¨celebrate¨. Andy Jackson is driving the car after having a few beers.The car crashes into a retaining wall and burst into flames. Rob Washington was killed but, the others survived. Rob dying had the greatest effect on Andy because they had been best friends since 7th grade.Throughout the book, we see how life's changed for Andy and how the people around him are impacted as well. The main problem in the book is Rob´s death. Rob passed away after his best friend, Andy, crashed the car they were in. Andy and his friends were riding around after winning their basketball game. Everyone in the car was drinking, including the driver. Rob Washington was riding shotgun when Andy lost control of the car and crashed into a retaining wall. Andy, B.J., and Tyrone made it out of the car alive. Rob Washington died after the car burst into flames. His friends attempted to save him but failed due to Rob´s legs being on the dashboard upon impact.This is a problem throughout the story because Andy blames himself for Rob´s death. Andy became distant and his break downs were uncontrollable. For example, Andy and his girlfriend, Keisha were walking through the mall around Christmas time. He refused to talk to anyone after seeing a Santa Claus display. He told Keisha that it reminded him of Rob.Andy could be fine one minute and uncontrollable then next.There was also a time when Andy was talking to his basketball coach after a game about how Rob´s parents still showed up to their games. Andy said ¨They sat there,Rob´s mom holding back tears, and my folks didn't even bother to show up. I should be the one dead, not Rob¨.
