The Amazing Anesthesiologist: Working With Wonders While many other jobs are easier to get and don’t require much intellect, the occupation of an anesthesiologist requires years of hard work and an abundant of intelligence. Some people still wonder why becoming an anesthesiologist requires so much time and hard work. However, when you take a look at the work that anesthesiologist do, the reason becomes evident. An anesthesiologist is a trained physician that uses and creates the medical drug anesthesia daily. Getting this job sounds hard and time consuming but it is definitely worth it in the long run. One reason is because an anesthesiologist makes about $300k-$400k dollars as an average salary. That is a very large amount of money to make in one year. Also, you receive instant gratification and feedback in the operating room (What are the Pros and Cons of being an Anesthesiologist). Which not only makes you feel good about yourself from the gratitude towards you, but if anything goes wrong you get feedback which helps you ensure it never happens again. But something's about this job aren’t very pleasing. Many jobs make you do it, but anesthesia is a specialty where you will commonly work night shift (Cons of an Anesthesiologist). But despite all the pros and cons, you have made a difference when working in this field. Every time you make anesthesia and deliver it to the patient, you potentially save lives and/or save them from intense pain. When people think of how surgery must have been without anesthesia it probably isn’t the best thought. Horrific, is a way to describe the memories of medical procedures prior to anesthesia.
