An illusion for every human being is to live in freedom. Angela Davis in her book ¨Freedom is a Constant Struggle¨ exposes us to her criteria about the idea, meaning and reality of freedom. Chapter 9 of ¨Freedom is a Constant Struggle¨ take us on a trip to the past to open our minds of what is happening now. In the other hand ¨Are Prisons Obsolete? ¨ touches a sensitive topic such as prison; its concepts and how the current situation inside jail is. Chapter 5 explains prison industrial complex, and how punishment is not the solution for the crime. Angela Davis’ books have the magic to open mind and say what most people is afraid to say. In addition both of the books provides the pathways to think carefully about the present and how we can change the future. Do we live in freedom? Are we celebrating freedom? Do we understand freedom? All of these question Angela Davis provides an answer in Chapter 9 of ¨Freedom is a Constant Struggle¨ the speech took place at Davison College in North Carolina, on February 12, 2013. Both books provide a bigger picture to understand the conflicts we are going through now. In my personal opinion her perspective in the current political situation is extremely valid. Furthermore, Angela Davis makes us aware of the pathways of what we should do to seek for freedom and a system that solves crimes without punishment. Now in days we walk through life with the fear of being a minority, and knowing the system we have now is not helping us. The time has come to fight for what is right, to look forward the best, to help our brother and sisters without a voice, to improve the community. The time is
